Based on the Brothers Grimm story, The Hare and the Hedgehog. This is an illustrated scene from the story. The objective of the assignment was to place characters in a setting and convey emotion through it. I chose to do the Hare and the Hedgehog because I was interested in using animals as characters.
I did a lot of research into children's picture book illustrators, specifically Beatrix Potter and Jerry Pinkney as well as their work in the process of making this because I wanted to emulate older children's books.
Done in Watercolor and Pencil.
